First Caipirinhas!

We may need to change the name of this blog to 100 caipirinhas they're so delicious. Had a great time out with more new friends last night and now on our way to a festival a few hours outside Recife.

First game in the books! Costa Rica pulled off another upset toppling Italy in a tense match. There's a good chance we see theses guys again at another one of our games...

We're Here!

After a relatively pain-free trip we are settled into our new home in Recife (minus Kylao Santos who will be arriving shortly)!

We were picked up by our incredibly helpful and funny hosts Gustavo and Katia and taken to our new abode. After settling in for a bit we were on our way to the major shopping mall to pick up our tickets. A friend of a friend Tania picked us up and took us around the mall where we watched England get eliminated (yes there are games on at all times, everywhere). 

Tickets in hand we went to a sports bar to catch the next game and meet up with more new friends, especially Ricardo or as we like to call him Ribasz. We had a night of merriment and played some pool against some friendly Aussies before we returned home to rest up for our first game.

USA v Ghana: We finally win!

Before heading off to the beautiful beaches of Brazil, we gathered at a fake Irish pub in Cambridge to push the USA to victory against that pesky Ghanaian team that keeps bumping us out of the World Cup.
